The task
Uganda's digital economy was booming, just not together. Government ran in silos. SMEs couldn't keep up. A generation of tech-savvy young people had the skills but not the doors. The gap between policy and profitability was real, loud and expensive. NextCom saw the opportunity and took it, conceptualising, planning and communicating Uganda's most practical, business-facing digital economy conference. SODE 2025 was the answer nobody had organised yet.
The approach
One day. One room. Every person that matters. Bring together government, private sector, global tech, academia and development partners, and don't let them leave without deals, commitments and a national digital economy report to show for it. Target: 300–500 in-person attendees and national digital reach. Simple ask. Massive execution.
What we did
NextCom built SODE 2025 around four pillars, Human Capital, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure and Policy, each designed to move past debate and into action. Keynotes from ministers and global tech leaders. Live case studies. One-on-one solution clinics. Tech demos. Policy cafés. Then amplified the whole thing across NBS TV, AfroMobile and the United Media network with a digital lead-up campaign and influencer voices to match.
Results.
